Match on Action is a term used in filming when the editor cuts a shot whilst there is something going on, for instance; if someone is in the process of opening a door. They can open the door whilst the camera is in a over shoulder shot, then the scene can be cut, then continued instead in a establishing shot, giving the feeling that the whole process happened in a single motion.
